THE SKINNY:

The Wave will open up its home season by hosting the newly minted Missouri Comets in its quest to defend its MISL regular season title. The Wave began the 2010-'11 season by spoiling Comet's welcome back party in Missouri, defeating the Comets 20-9 on Nov. 12. Midfielder Marcio Leite scored seven points in that game, dishing out a career best five assists. The victory marked the second consecutive year Milwaukee opened up with a convincing road win, defeating La Raza de Monterrey 15-0 in last season's opener.

Milwaukee compiled an impressive 9-3 record at the U.S. Cellular Arena in 2009-'10 and will look to make its home court a difficult place to play. The Wave have won nine consecutive games going back to last season. Another item of note will be the return of scoring ace Marco Terminesi to the Wave. After missing out the second half of the season due to illness, Terminesi will don the Milwaukee jersey for the first time since Jan. 23. He scored in all nine games he played last season.
