Milwaukee Wave Announce Home Opener Date

MILWAUKEE (Tuesday, July 26, 2005) - Milwaukee Wave Chief Operating Officer Mike Lafferty announced today that the 2005 MISL Champion Milwaukee Wave opens the 2005-06 season on Saturday, November 12 at 7 p.m. versus the Chicago Storm. Season tickets to witness the Wave defend the Championship title are also now available.

Special events kicking-off the 2005-06 season of Milwaukee's four-time League Champions will include a ceremonial dropping of the Championship banner, a presentation of several 2004-05 League awards, a Championship ring ceremony and a formal unveiling of the modified logo. The Wave shield now contains four stars, reflecting each Championship title the team has won it its 21-year history. All four Championships have been secured under the direction of current head coach Keith Tozer, who is returning for his 14th season with the Wave.

Fans can now purchase season tickets by calling (414) 224-9283. Flex packs begin at $108 and season tickets start at $204. For a limited time only, August 23-26, individuals and groups can purchase their seats to the home opener.

The Milwaukee Wave is a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League and was established in 1984. Through the guidance of head coach Keith Tozer, the winningest coach in Wave and North American indoor soccer history, the Wave has won four league titles (1997-98, 99-2000, 2000-01 and 2004-05), six Regular Season Championships, and has made seven Championship Series appearances. The Wave plays at home in the U.S. Cellular Arena located in downtown Milwaukee.
