Milwaukee Wave News Release

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Milwaukee Wave improved its undefeated record to 6-0 with a 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia KiXX at the U.S. Cellular Arena Friday evening. The Wave took the lead early in the first quarter on a goal by forward Todd Dusosky; it was the fifth consecutive game Milwaukee scored the first goal. Later in the first period, Matt Schmidt extended the Wave's lead to two goals after capitalizing on a pass by Todd Dusosky, who came into tonight's game second in the MISL in assists.

A minute into the second quarter, Giuliano Oliviero gave the Wave its biggest lead of the night after shooting the ball past Philadelphia goalkeeper Peter Pappas to make the score 3-0. The two teams engaged in a defensive battle for most of the quarter, until the KiXX scored a goal with 58 seconds remaining in the period. Pat Morris scored off a pass from Ptah Myers. Thirty-three seconds later, Matt Schmidt responded with his second goal of the evening to put the Wave ahead by three again, 4-1.

Kixx forward, John Barry Nusum scored the only goal of the third period (5:23) after connecting on a pass by Goran Vasic. Nusum cut the lead to a single score 4-3 at 1:23 in the fourth quarter. The Dusosky brothers connected about a minute later to give Milwaukee a 5-3 lead. Troy Dusosky found the back of the net after a pass from Todd. The assist was Todd's second of the night and seventh of the season.

The Wave's defense and goalkeeper Nick Vorberg had an impressive fourth quarter as they stopped the KiXX and its sixth attacker from scoring in the last four minutes.
