
Mill Rats Defeat Quebec Kebs 104-92

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats defeated the Quebec Kebs on Thursday night at Harbour Station, in front of a crowd of 2,184 with a final score of 104-92.
The Mill Rats bolted out of the gate taking the lead over the Kebs until half way through the first quarter. The Kebs fought back to close the quarter 19-22.
The Mill Rats played hard during the second quarter, outscoring the Kebs 27 points to 19. With just under two minutes left before half, Mill Rats Darren Duncan pulled up for the fake and passed it off to Antonio Burks for a three pointer. Shortly before the end of the half, Ralphy Holmes from the Kebs was ejected from the game. The Mill Rats closed the second quarter 46-41.
Both teams played a solid third battling back and forth answering each other's baskets. The Mill Rats maintained their lead, ending the third 68-67.
With just under three minutes remaining in the game, Mill Rats Darren Duncan set up a basket for point guard Anthony Anderson, followed by a dunk from Kevin Francis, bringing the score to 91-82.
With 2:41 left in the game, Mill Rats Kevin Francis was fouled out but the team was still able to hold their double digit lead.
Leading scorers for the Mill Rats were Kevin Francis with 20 points, Darren Duncan with 18 points and 8 assists and Anthony Anderson with 15 points and 6 assists. Anderson also claimed 5 boards. PJ Young added 15 points.
The Quebec Kebs were led by Aaron Spears with 16 points, Shaun Fountain with 14 and James Jackson with 13.
