Mike Poole and Hurricanes Win Fifth in a Row in Moncton

Halifax Hurricanes News Release
Hurricanes Head Coach Mike Leslie must feel lucky to be able to rely on so many different players to carry his team.
Mike Poole, making his second start in a row in place of an injured Antoine Mason did just that to lift his Halifax Hurricanes to an 81-73 win in Moncton against the Magic.
He played the best all-around game for either team, finishing with 25 points, including four three-points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Poole has lit the National Basketball League of Canada on fire during the month of February, averaging better than 18 points per game, mostly off the bench, while shooting almost 49 per cent from beyond the three-point line.
His stellar play was backed up by strong games down low from CJ Washington (18 points, 11 rebounds) and Tyrone Watson (14 points, five rebounds).
Starting point guard Cliff Clinkscales helped out with nine points, 10 boards and five assists.
The win creates some more separation between the Atlantic Division-leading Hurricanes (19-9) and the second place Magic (17-14).
Before hitting the road again, the Hurricanes return home for a game against the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
The game tips off at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office.
