Tulsa Drillers News Release

MIDLAND, TX - The Tulsa Drillers entered Tuesday night's game looking to finish a seven-game road trip with a win against the Midland RockHounds. Tulsa took a 4-0 lead into the eighth inning, but Midland was able to come back and tie things up and send the game to extras. The RockHounds delivered a sacrifice fly in the tenth inning to send the Drillers to a disappointing 5-4 loss.

The Drillers got the scoring started in the first inning. After a walk to Zach McKinstry, Christian Santana tripled to right field, plating McKinstry, giving Tulsa a 1-0 lead.

Drew Avans gave the Drillers a 2-0 lead in the fifth with a home run to right center.

The Drillers added two more runs in eighth. After a lead off single by Santana, Cody Thomas hit his 16th home run of the year, bringing Tulsa's lead to 4-0.

Edwin Uceta got the start on the mound for Tulsa and struck out four while allowing only one hit over four innings. Logan Bawcom followed with two scoreless innings.

Yordy Cabrera pitched a scoreless seventh out of the pen for the Drillers, but things unraveled an inning later. After allowing a single and a double to start the inning, Nate Mondou followed with a single, knocking in the first run.

Nolan Long replaced Cabrera, but Midland did not stop. Edwin Diaz hit a two-run triple, trimming Tulsa's lead to one. Dan Gamache followed by capping the inning with a run-scoring single, scoring Diaz, and tying the game at 4-4.

After Tulsa failed to score in the top of the tenth, Mondou started Midland's half of the inning as the placed runner at second bar and promptly advanced on a wild pitch from Logan Salow. Tyler Ramirez then hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Mondou from third and giving Midland the 5-4 win.
