Boise, ID (January 11, 2006) - The Continental Basketball Association and the Idaho Stampede are proud to announce that the Micron Foundation has purchased 1,000 tickets for the 2006 CBA All-Star Classic to be distributed to military personnel and their families in the Boise area.

The tickets are for the 22nd CBA All-Star Classic, which will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Qwest Arena in downtown Boise. Doors open at 5 p.m. (MT), with the Hopkins Financial Slam Dunk Competition and the Long Distance Shootout beginning at 6 p.m. (MT), followed by the All-Star game at 7:15 p.m. (MT).

"This is a tremendous sign of generosity by the Micron Foundation towards our local service men and women," said Bill Ilett, Managing Partner of the Idaho Stampede. "I'm happy to have the Stampede and the Continental Basketball Association be a part of this."

Recently the 116th Brigade Combat Team returned from 12 months of service in Iraq. Among those in that group were 1,700 men and women from Idaho, with many more Boise-area residents that serve in all branches of the military.

"The important thing that this shows is the community support for its local troops," said Stephanie Dowling, spokeswoman for the Idaho National Guard. "It shows the soldiers that they are recognized and supported."

An allotment of the 1,000 tickets will be given to the Mountain Home Air Force Base, which will disperse them to active duty airmen and families. Distribution will also available to local Marines, Army Reserve, and Navy Reserve at the Family Support Center in Building 218 on Gowen Field (208-422-4330). Up to four tickets will be available per family.

Tickets are still available for the general public ($7, $11, and $17) and can be purchased by calling the Stampede office at (208) 388-4667 or the Qwest Arena ticket office at (208) 331-8497.
