Madison Capitols News Release

MIDDLETON, Wisc. - Following a weekend with three primary assists, Charlie Michaud has been named USHL Defenseman of the Week.

Michaud is in his first full season with the Madison Capitols after playing as an affiliate last season. In 38 games, the left-shot defenseman has registered eleven points and a +3 plus-minus rating.

On Saturday, Michaud assisted on the Andrew Kuzma game tying goal in the third period of the Capitols 3-2 win over Dubuque. The following day, the Miami commit set up both of Madison's regulation goals in an overtime victory against Cedar Rapids.

The Denver native was selected by Madison in the third round of the 2022 USHL Phase I draft, 37th overall. He spent the past two seasons playing with the Little Caesars AAA program prior to his time with Madison.

Michaud becomes the fourth Capitols player, third defenseman, this season to take home a player of the week honor. He joins Austin Burnevik and Jack Henry on the active roster as well as former Capitol defenseman, Will Felicio, with the award.

The Capitols hit the road this weekend to face off against the Muskegon Lumberjacks and the USNTDP U-18's on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Puck drop is scheduled for the six o'clock hour on both nights with the eastern time zone starts.

Madison returns home on Wednesday, March 6th, to start a five-game home stand. The Caps will face off against the Gamblers on that Wednesday night before hosting Sioux Falls for a pair on Friday and Saturday. Tickets for all three contests can be found at
