Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (November 22, 2015) - Steve Michalek made 40 saves and Sam Warning broke a 1-1 tie late in the second period as the host Quad City Mallards (8-6-3) defeated the Indy Fuel (9-4-1) 2-1 Sunday

Warning tipped in what proved to be the winning goal with just 1:14 left in the second. Michalek was at his busiest in making 18 second period saves to set the stage for Warning's game winner.

The Fuel's Cody Sharib opened the scoring by burying a rebound at 15:35 of the first period. Raphael Bussieres raced into the slot to rifle Olivier Archambault's feed in under the cross bar and tie the score at one just over two and a half minutes later.

The Mallards are back in action on the road Wednesday night against the Missouri Mavericks. The Mallards next play at home Friday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Kalamazoo Wings. Friday will be Blackout Night: the Mallards will celebrate Black Friday by wearing special (nearly) all black sweaters against the Wings. Those jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Genesis Health Services Foundation Saturday night following the Mallards' match-up with the Cincinnati Cyclones at the iWireless Center. Friday evening is also a $1 Beer/$1 Dog Night presented by 97X. Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $1 beers at all Mallards' Friday night home games. In addition, Friday is a MetroLINK College Night. The Mallards have once again partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during Friday home games. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.

Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season home games- including Friday night's tilt- are on sale now at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000.
