Mic'd Up: Langtry Takes Place of Willie B. for Saturday's Game
January 30, 2014 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth will make history when it hosts the Minnesota Swarm on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center this weekend. Brian Langtry, whose number-6 jersey was retired by the Mammoth at the start of the 2012 season, will serve as the team's public address announcer on Saturday night. He could be the first player whose jersey number is retired by a team to then serve as the in-arena announcer.
"Brian is, and always will be, a fan-favorite," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "His passion, enthusiasm and excitement for lacrosse and our organization is unparalleled. This will be a night to remember!"
Langtry was a charismatic, and at times, flamboyant leader of the Mammoth for nine seasons. His flair for the dramatic brought fans to their feet, while his personal accomplishments place him among the best Americans to ever play box lacrosse.
Willie B., the team's primary PA announcer, will attend the Super Bowl and is unavailable on Saturday. Langtry will take his place.
Party packs to Saturday's game are on sale now. Get four tickets, four beers or Pepsis and four hot dogs for just $49 at the Pepsi Center Box Office or Altitude Tickets. Additional fees may apply.
