Miami FC News Release
MIAMI - The Miami FC kicks off their 2021 USL Championship campaign Sunday night at FIU Stadium in Miami, FL. Loudoun United comes to town for their first time ever, with the match set to be starting at 7:30 p.m.
The Miami FC entered the 2020 season as one of the favorites alongside in-state rivals, Tampa Bay Rowdies, and while the latter reached the USL Final, Miami FC was far from reaching this objective. The day after the club's final regular season match which capped off an underwhelming season, the front office began working on what to change ahead of the 2021 season. Paul Dalglish composed an almost entirely new coaching staff, and the on the field, he was not shy to make changes.
Included in those changes was announcing only the return of four players who were on the roster in the club's first USL Championship season. Lance Rozeboom, Brian Sylvestre, Janos Lobe and Othello Bah were the only four that returned from last year, with 17 new faces joining the club. The new and improved Miami FC is surrounded by young and hungy talent that has had proven success at the USL Championship level. There are multiple faces like "Speedy Williams" and Paco Craig who know what it takes to bring the USL Cup to South Florida.
