Miami FC falls to Seattle Sounders, but prevails against Portland Timbers

Miami, FL- At the end of a two-game northwestern road trip, Miami FC finished with a win and loss. The South Floridian squad faced the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night when the Sounders pulled to an early 2-0 lead in the first half.

Guatemalan international Mario Rodriguez gave Miami hope for a late comeback with a goal in the 81st minute, assisted by Oscar Gil, but that hope ended at the final whistle.

Miami FC departed after the Seattle match that same night to Portland and played the Timbers on Sunday. With two games in less than 48 hours, Miami FC managed to play hard and capture their fifth win this season. Fabian Sandoval converted a penalty kick in the 41st minute for the only score of the game.

Miami FC heads home and will face the Charleston Battery on the 4th of July at 7:30 PM at Tropical Park Stadium.

All Miami-Dade County employees enter the match for free with their County ID card.

At 5:00 PM, there will be a pre-game club match between CSO (Community Soccer Outreach) and Shenandoah.
