
Mets Top Cubs 1-0 on Reynolds Walk-Off Single

Pinch-hitter Matt Reynolds delivered a walk-off infield single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to score Aderlin Rodriguez as the Mets defeated the Daytona Cubs 1-0 in the opener of a four-game series.
Reynolds hit a groundball behind second as Cubs shortstop Javier Baez fielded and on a last attempt threw wide of the bag at first to end the game.
Domingo Tapia pitched six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits while walking three and striking out four.
Frank Francisco on a major league rehab assignment tossed a scoreless seventh inning with two strikeouts.
Jim Fuller struck out one and pitched a scoreless eighth while Chasen Bradford threw the ninth inning and earned the victory.
Travis Taijeron had two doubles and reached base four times.
The Mets will host the Daytona Cubs on Monday at Traditon Field at 6:30 p.m. Hansel Robles is the scheduled starter for the Mets.
