Memphis 901 FC's Road Trip Continues Tomorrow at Saint Louis FC

MEMPHIS, Tennessee - Memphis 901 FC continues its road swing tomorrow night at 7:30 at Saint Louis FC.

901 FC dropped a Saturday night contest at Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, 4-0, after Pittsburgh scored a pair of goals in each half. Memphis midfielder Marcus Epps made his team debut as a substitute in the 51st minute. He was acquired on loan from New York Red Bulls of MLS earlier in the week.

Memphis and Saint Louis were supposed to play earlier this season in St. Louis on June 1, but the match was postponed due to inclement weather. 901 FC's Cam Lindley played one match with Saint Louis FC last season, and Wes Charpie appeared in 19 matches and made 15 starts with them in 2017.

Tomorrow's match at Saint Louis continues a tough stretch on the 901 FC schedule. Including this match, Memphis has played five-straight matches against teams currently in the playoff picture (Saint Louis, 10th; Pittsburgh, 6th; Ottawa, 7th; New York, 2nd; Nashville, 4th) and seven-of-nine overall. An eighth, Charlotte Independence, is only out of the playoff picture based on goal differential.

Memphis has scored 21 goals in its last 14 matches, which far outpaces the club's output through its first 10 matches of the season (8). The recent stretch includes seven multi-goal performances where the club is 5-0-2. Memphis had just two multi-goal showings in its first 10 matches and did not win either outing.

In 11 matches since the beginning of May, 901 FC has gotten a point in seven of them after having points in three of its first nine matches of the season. Since that May 4 game against Birmingham Legion FC, Memphis has added playmakers Lagos Kunga and Brandon Allen, who have already combined for three goals, two assists, and 10 shots on target. Before the Saint Louis FC match, Memphis added midfielder Pierre Da Silva, most recently of MLS' Orlando City SC, and star USL Championship defender Liam Doyle after his time with Nashville SC.

With three points tomorrow, coupled with favorable results ahead of it in the table, Memphis 901 FC could jump another spot in the standings. Currently sitting with 18 points, the team ahead of Memphis, Loudoun United FC, has 19. The line for a playoff spot currently stands at 24 points.

After tomorrow's match, 901 FC returns to AutoZone Park for its only home match in August, hosting North Carolina FC on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. After that, Memphis plays four-straight road matches until next returning to Downtown Memphis on Sept. 7.
