Melissa Gardner Named Mallards Vice President

Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards announced today that Melissa Gardner has been hired to serve as the team's Vice President. Gardner has spent four seasons in the hockey industry including parts of two years with the American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons.

Her role with the Mallards includes overseeing corporate partnerships, season tickets sales, individual game ticket sales, marketing and customer service. She succeeds Tim Taylor, who was promoted to Mallards Team President in April.

Gardner comes to the Quad Cities from Springfield, Massachusetts where she was the Event Manager at the MassMutual Center. Prior to beginning her time at the arena, the Sterling, Massachusetts native was the Manager of Marketing and Events for the American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons. Gardner worked with the UHL's Elmira Jackals from 2000 through 2003. During her first season with the Jackals, she was a member of the United League's Member Club of the Year. Gardner holds a degree in Business Administration from Elmira College.

"I'm very excited to come to the Quad Cities," said Gardner. "The tradition of success with the Mallards, on and off the ice, makes this a very attractive place to continue my career. I look forward to working with Tim and the rest of the staff to continue to meet the high standards that the franchise has established."

"Melissa will be a huge asset for us," said Taylor. "I met her while she was working in Elmira, and I was always impressed by her creativity and organization. She has experience at the American League level and understands the business very well. We're looking forward to seeing what she will accomplish in the Quad Cities."

The Mallards Roller Hockey Camp featuring instructors Patrick Nadeau and Jami Yoder begins August 14th. The camp is open to all ages and will be held at the Quad City Sports Center. For information, visit the Mallards Nest Team Store to pick up a brochure or call (309) 764-7825.

The Arby's Street Hockey Clinics hosted by Jami Yoder and Patrick Nadeau will be held on August 26th, September 9th and September 23rd. The clinics run from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Arby's South Park location in Moline.
