Rockford, Ill.- It's fair season in Northern Illinois and the Rockford IceHogs will begin to make their rounds this weekend beginning at the Boone County Fair. Come and visit the IceHogs at Illinois' largest County Fair at the Boone County Fair Grounds through Sunday.
The Boone County Fair runs through Sunday, Aug. 13 and fans that stop by the IceHogs booth can register to win prizes from the Hogs. The Grand Prize winner will receive a replica (adult size) road IceHogs jersey. A four pack of tickets for the IceHogs Opening Night contest against the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday, Oct. 13 is also up for grabs, as is a free Runt's Kids Club membership.
Fans can pick up a flier to reserve Opening Night tickets before they go on sale to the general public along with season and group ticket information. The fair opens at 10 a.m. each morning through Sunday and closes at 10 p.m. each night with the exception of Sunday when the fair concludes at 8 p.m.
Also, fans can bid on another round of authentic IceHogs gear on the IceHogs Web site - www.icehogs.com. This week's featured items include an authentic game-worn alternate Hammer jersey worn by club-record setting goaltender Michel Robinson and an authentic game worn road jersey donned by winger Billy Tibbetts.
Other items included on the IceHogs online auction is an autographed puck from winger Rob Voltera, Voltera's autographed lockerroom name plate and a "Hockey Where you Live" poster signed by Robin Big Snake, Jason Ralph, Chaz Johnson, Jason Notermann and Michel Robinson. The auction is set to close on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 9 p.m.
