Meigray Auctions ECHL All-Star Game-Worn Jerseys, Game-Used Pucks

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL in association with The MeiGray Group announced that fans will have the opportunity to purchase jerseys and pucks from the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario on Wednesday and the 2010 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition on Tuesday.

"Jerseys are the fabric of the game, and collecting jerseys gets us all closer to the game," said Barry Meisel, MeiGray's President and Chief Operating Officer. "We're so proud that we can distribute jerseys of the ECHL's brightest stars to fans across the globe."

The Ontario Reign and Citizens Business Bank Arena will host the 18th Annual ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario on Wednesday and the 13th Annual All-Star Skills Competition on Tuesday.

The Ninth Annual All-Star Game-Worn Jersey Auction will begin when the puck drops to start the game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. PT while the Seventh Annual All-Star Puck Auction will begin Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. ET and the Seventh Annual All-Star Game-Worn Skills Competition Jersey & Puck Auction will begin on Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. ET.

The jerseys worn by the 21 members of the American Conference and the 21 members of the National Conference during the first period of play on Jan. 20 will be auctioned live during the game simultaneously at the Citizens Business Bank Arena and online at ECHL.com, MeiGray.com and ECHLAuction.at.edeal.com/.

In addition to the jerseys, game-used and goal-scoring pucks from the All-Star Game as well as jerseys and pucks from the skills competition will also be collected and auctioned at ECHLAuction.at.edeal.com/.

Each player in the ECHL All-Star Game will wear a different jersey in each of the game's three periods. The jerseys worn in the second period will be available to the general sports collecting public at a later date through MeiGray, a Branchburg, N.J., company that also partners with the National Hockey League in the NHL-MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program and the American Hockey League in the AHL-MGG Game-Worn Jersey Program. The players will keep the jersey that they wear during the third period.

Each ECHL team will wear one set of home and road jerseys for the first half of the season and another set for the second half. There have been 58 players from the All-Star Game who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 33 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.

The third class will be inducted into the the ECHL Hall of Fame on Jan. 20, 2010 during a luncheon ceremony at the Hilton Ontario Airport, the official host hotel of the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario. The featured speaker at the ECHL Hall of Fame luncheon will be Hockey Hall of Fame member and Los Angeles Kings President of Business Operations Luc Robitaille.

The past seven ECHL All-Star Games have generated more than $1 million each for the local economy as guests, players, coaches and fans occupy hundreds of hotel rooms and spend three days in the host city.

The game has been available live on the NHL Network the last seven years as well as being broadcast on multiple regional networks. The audio broadcast has been carried on XM Satellite Radio as well as being available in all ECHL markets.

The Stanley Cup and the Patrick J. Kelly Cup will both be on display throughout the event, marking the 10th time in the last 11 years that the NHL championship trophy and the ECHL championship trophy have been displayed together at the All-Star Game.
