Richmond (In.) - The Richmond Roosters announce the 2nd Annual "Meet the Manager" spring kick-off event presented by Ryan's Family Steakhouse. The event will be held Saturday, March 19, 2005 at First English Lutheran Church located at 2727 East Main Street. Doors will open at 7:45pm with the event beginning at 8:00pm.
The featured speaker will be Richmond Roosters Field Manager, Chris Mongiardo. Coach Mongiardo was instrumental in the Roosters 2001/2002 Back to Back Frontier League Championships. The 2005 season will mark his third as Field Manager of the Roosters. Chris will be addressing his vision for the upcoming season.
We also welcome back the newly announced 2005 Roosters Pitching Coach, Matt Schweitzer. Matt, in his final year of eligibility in the Frontier League, will return as a player/coach for the 2005 season. He finished with a 6-5 record and a 3.40 ERA in the 2004 season. Matt was also a member of the Back to Back Championship teams. Schweitzer holds the Roosters career records for appearances (173), innings (283) wins (23) and strikeouts (326). "We are extremely excited about adding Matt Schweitzer to our coaching staff for the 2005 season. Matt will provide an wealth of experience and knowledge for our team. He is an addition to our staff that our fans and players can be proud of," stated Roosters General Manager, Deanna Beaman.
Returning Roosters Outfielder and 2004 Frontier League All Star, Mike Reese will also be in attendance.

Richmond Roosters 2005 Season Ticket holders, Sponsors and Host Families will be admitted free as our guests. The general public may purchase tickets for only $3.00 per person. Appetizers and beverages will be served.
Fans will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panel, obtain autographs, purchase merchandise and ticket plans, register to be a bat kid for the season, find out how to become a Host Family and much more. Rowdy Rooster will be in attendance.
