CORPUS CHRISTI - Ladies, the Corpus Christi Hooks have a new fan club just for you.
La Palmera presents the BARBS, designed for female baseball fans between the ages of 16 and 54. BARBS membership benefits include a pink visor, pink tote bag, two reserved tickets to three 2009 Hooks home games and a 10 percent discount at Hook, Line & Sinker.

"Young ladies and women 16 to 54 are a major part of our fan base," Hooks vice president Adam Nuse said. "Female teens are interested in baseball and young and older moms make many of the decisions about entertainment choices and how family time is spent. We want to take care of them in a special way, to show our gratitude for their support since the Hooks began play in 2005."
Added Hooks president Ken Schrom: "The most important part of a hook is the barb, so we feel the name is a natural."
