FORT MYERS, Fla., December 16 ? 2004 NBDL scoring leader Antonio Meeking scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Asheville top the Flame 103-91 at Germain Arena. Florida scored an NBDL record low 11 points in the third quarter, losing a ten point halftime lead to the Altitude (7-4), who have now won three straight. The Flame (1-6), who have now lost six straight, only managed 32 points in the second half.

Florida led for most of the first half, shooting 61-percent from the floor. Kirk Haston led the way with 12 first half points, followed by Hiram Fuller and Carl English each contributing 10 apiece giving the Flame a 59-49 halftime lead.

Asheville dominated in the second half, contributed by strong defense and precise shooting. The Altitude used a 16-0 run early in the third quarter and outscored the Flame 32-11 in the period while forcing nine turnovers. Antonio Meeking scored 10 of his game high 21 points in the quarter as Asheville shot 70-percent from the floor. The 11 points for the Flame in the quarter sets a new NBDL record low for points scored in a quarter.

The Flame closed the gap to seven points in the fourth quarter, but would get no closer as Asheville cruised to the 103-91 road victory.

For the Flame, Kirk Haston finished with 18 points and Darius Rice and Carl English each added 15. Kevin Braswell recorded an NBDL league high 15 assists in the loss for Florida.

Lenny Stokes scored 16 points and Tim Bowers added 15 coming off the bench for Asheville.

The two teams will face each other again on Sunday, December 19. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
