Rio Grande Valley Dorados News Release

HIDALGO, TX: August 30, 2004 – The arenafootball2 league held their championship week this past week, which consisted of league meetings and the ArenaCup Championship game, and while the Florida Firecats defeated the Peoria Pirates Saturday night 39-26 to close the week's events and claim the 2004 af2 title, the Rio Grande Valley Dorados were honored during the banquet with team president Trey Medlock awarded the af2 Executive of the Year honor.

Medlock serves as the President/General Manager for both the Dorados and the Central Hockey League's Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and it is his first personal honor. The 37 year-old Shallowater, Texas native just completed his third season of professional sports, but his first serving his current role and his first in af2. Medlock began his career at the collegiate level as an assistant basketball coach at the NCAA level after graduating from Texas Tech University. He served the roles at Tulane University, Stephen F. Austin University and Virginia Commonwealth University before returning to Lubbock, Texas to jump into the front office of professional sports. Medlock was the Director of Corporate Marketing for the CHL's Lubbock Cotton Kings for two seasons and then moved to the Rio Grande Valley to work for Hunt Development. He eventually left Hunt to assist the start-up of the CHL's Killer Bees franchise, which wrapped up its inaugural season in April and claimed the CHL's Franchise of the Year Honors. The CHL also nominated Medlock as a finalist for the CHL's Executive of the Year honor. The af2 does not award the Franchise of the Year honor, so the Executive of the Year is the top organizational honor the af2 awards.

"Our organization was honored by the top honor in both hockey and arena football and its something that makes me extremely proud of this organization," said Medlock. "Even though the honor is an individual honor, I look at it as a team honor. We are only as strong as our weakest link and because I am the leader of this organization I take the blame when something goes wrong and I receive compliments when everything goes right. I share this honor with all of our ownership and front office staff because I could not have received this without each and every one of them."

Rio Grande Valley was also awarded third place for the Best Publication, with the production of their game night programs. The publication editor and the layout was conducted by Chris Due of the Dorados and was printed and designed by Copy it Digital Printing of McAllen (www.rgvcopyit.com).

The Dorados are currently in "off season" mode and are in preparation for the 2005 season. To inquire about tickets and advertising packages for the 2005 season, please contact the Dorados offices at 956-843-7825 or visit the Dorados online at www.doradosfootball.com.
