McRobbie, Flyers Defeat Armada, 7-4

Alex McRobbie pitched six strong innings to win his first game and lead the Flyers to a 7-4 victory over the Long Beach Armada.

Mayorga crossed home to put the Flyers up 4-1 on an Aaron Davis RBI single in the 6th inning off SP Jeff Heaverlo. Davis reached base in all four plate appearances.

Mayorga drove home his 4th run of the day in the 7th inning on a sacrifice fly.

The Armada rallied to make it a 5-4 game in the 8th inning when Jaime Martinez hit his third homerun of 2007.

Davis and Dave Bacani provided insurance runs for the Flyers in the bottom of the 8th inning to give closer Dave Coggin a cushion.

Coggin struck out Chris Klemm looking to finish the game in style.

The Flyers moved to .500 for the first time this season and will host the Chico Outlaws Monday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast at orangecountyflyers.com.
