Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The arenafootball2 league office announced today that DL Ben McCombs has been selected as the af2's Russell Athletic Lineman of the Year.
McCombs, 6-4 265, led the league in sacks this year (15.5) and is the af2's all-time career leader in that category (56.5). In his first year with the Shock, he finished the regular season with 25.5 tackles and was named first-team all National Conference last week.
"Honestly, it's a shock but I'm truly honored," McCombs explained. "I give credit to my whole defense because without them, I wouldn't be able to do the things that I have done this year."
McCombs is the first player in Shock history to win this award. The Shock will host the Tulsa Talons this Saturday for the National Conference Championship game. Tickets for the game can be purchased through TicketsWest.
