Amarillo Dillas News Release
AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Dillas Baseball Club announced today they have traded outfielder Terrence McClain to the Victoria Seals of the Golden Baseball League, in exchange for a player to be named later. As they say, winning gets you noticed which has been happening quite often lately with the Dillas especially in the outfield. McClain joins former teammates Stantrel Smith and Keanon Simon as outfielders to spend only one season in Amarillo before moving on to another club.
The 30-year old right-handed hitter from Paris, Tennessee enters his seventh year of professional baseball, all in the independent leagues. He split time with Evansville of the Frontier League and Fullerton of the Golden League in 2005. In 2006 and 2007 he played at Edmonton of the Northern League and spent his first year at Edmonton under manager Terry Bevington.
In 2008, McClain split time between the Shreveport Sports (now the Captains) and Southern Maryland of the American Association and Atlantic Leagues, respectively. Signed by the Dillas on May 14, 2009 as an unrestricted free agent, McClain played in 79 games batting .339 with 17 doubles, 4 triples, and 4 home runs to go along with driving in 54 runs, in 286 plate appearances.
ULB Opening Day 2010 is Thursday, May 27 when the Dillas travel to San Angelo for a two-game series against the Colts. The reigning United League Champions will open their home schedule Saturday, May 29, when the Colts follow the Dillas back to Amarillo to play a four-game series. Season tickets are still available and single-game tickets officially go on-sale Saturday, May 1st.
