Maywood Buzz Family, Friends, & Fans Appreciation Day 2007 a success

Maywood, CA - The season doesnt start for about another week and a half for the Buzz but today they took the court in fron of about 150 people for their annual Family, Friends and Fans Day. The day started at 11am with the Black & White Scrimmage Game.
Buzz Black beat Buzz White 85-84 in double OT. "It wasnt high scoring, but we did play only 10 minute quarters, with a running clock & didnt shoot freethrows, I think we will be more then ready we we travel to San Francisco November 15th" stated Buzz Head Coach Burrel Lee III. "I also got a chance to see what we need to work on as a team to get to the ABA Title Game" Lee added.
Buzz Black was lead by 6'7, 19yr old Rookie PG Gary Smith who finished with a team high 21pts. Smith who is a highlight waiting to happen whenever he takes the court. Fellow Rookie 6'4 Guard chipped in 16pts.
Buzz White was lead by 6'11, Rookie C, John Reynolds who had 21pts. John was a force down in the post, grabbing rebounds an put backs. Also with Nick Sheppard and Rashaan Smith both resting to allow the young guys to get more playing time, John really came around.

The Buzz also raffled off an autographed basketball, had game for kids and after the event everyone joined the Buzz in the banquet room and enjoyed a nice lunch thanks to Subway and the City of Maywood.
