Mayor Walsh and Boston Breakers Team up to Host Women's World Cup Viewing Party

HANOVER, Mass. (June 18, 2015) - Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and the Boston Breakers have teamed up to host a Women's World Cup viewing party for the U.S. Women's National Team match on Monday, June 22, against Colombia.

The viewing party will take place at City Hall Plaza, which is located at One City Hall Square in Boston. The event is free and open to the public. The knockout round game between the U.S. and Colombia is scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET start.

"This is very exciting news for women's soccer in Boston," Boston Breakers general manager Lee Billiard said. "Thank you to Mayor Walsh and the city for hosting the viewing party in conjunction with the Breakers. It will be great to see City Hall packed out supporting the U.S. Women's National Team and women's soccer."

The U.S., featuring Boston Breakers goalkeeper and 2014 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year Alyssa Naeher, won Group D at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup by beating Nigeria, 1-0, Tuesday night. A win Monday will send them to the quarterfinals to face the winner of China vs. Cameroon.

The Boston Breakers are one of nine teams in the National Women's Soccer League and play their home games at Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium on the campus of Harvard University. To purchase tickets, call 617-945-1704 or visit www.breakerstickets.com.
