(May 2006, Las Vegas, NV) The AFL Las Vegas Gladiator Goddesses were recently presented with two prestigious accolades from local government entities for their support to the community.
"The Happiest Mayor in the World", Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman Proclaimed April 29, 2006 as The 2006 AFL Las Vegas Gladiators Goddesses Day in acknowledgement for their accomplishments and contributions to the Community.
Las Vegas' ONLY Professional Sports Dance Team made appearances and performances throughout the year in support of charities and special interest groups including numerous City of Las Vegas sponsored events: The Veterans Day Parade, Aviation Nation- Nellis Air Show, The Las Vegas Marathon, Float Like a Duck, and The Las Vegas Sports Fest.
On May 6, 2006, the North Las Vegas Police Department presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Gladiator Goddesses in recognition of their support and valued contribution to the 3rd Annual Elizondo Charity Softball Tournament, held earlier in the Spring.
Known for their high-energy dance routines on the field, Goddess Manager Mary Vail booked the fourteen member team for a series of appearances around the Las Vegas valley to support local charities and organizations including special holiday themed performances in November and December. The Goddesses perform free-of-charge to non-profit organizations.
The rough and tough Gladiators have a soft and glamorous counterpart known as "The Goddesses." On and off the field, this versatile group of sensuous, stunning and talented dancers exemplify the sexy, energetic, & exhilarating spirit of the Gladiators, the Arena Football League and Las Vegas itself.
