"Mayor" Crombie to be Re-elected in the Pee Dee

June 5, 2006 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) - Twin City Cyclones News Release

Pee Dee Cyclones' Head Coach and General Manager Mark Richards has announced that forward Chris Crombie has agreed to terms to return to the Pee Dee for the upcoming 2006-2007 hockey season. Coach Richards was thrilled when Crombie contacted him. "I look forward to his return. He's really excited about coming back to play in the Pee Dee since it seems as if his heart never left. Crombie will definitely add a tremendous physical presence to our team."

Crombie, 34, was a member of the former Pee Dee Pride's inaugural team during the 1997-1998 season where he played in 60 games and scored a total of 20 points.

The 6'-2", 220 pound Hamilton, Ontario native was selected by the Boston Bruins in round 10 of the NHL Entry Draft in 1992. Crombie last played in 2003-2004 with the Isle of Wight Raiders of England. While there, he appeared in 15 games and scored 31 points.
