Mayhem Pick up Second Straight Shootout Win

HUNTSVILLE, AL- *For the second consecutive night, the Macon Mayhem went into a shootout, and for the second straight night, they picked up the victory. This time the Mayhem earned the 4-3 win over the Huntsville Havoc.

The Havoc got the opening goal of the hockey game off the stick of Scott Fellnermayr, assisted by Darren McCormick and Ben Kramer at the 8:13 mark of the first period. Mayhem rookie Ben Robillard answered however, scoring off of assists from fellow rookies Michael Holland and Matt Johnson.

Huntsville would score the first goal of the second period as well, when Kyle Sharkey scored to put them up 2-1. Macon would answer yet again, as Jake Trask scored his 19th of the season. Daniel Gentzler and Collin MacDonald picked up the assists.

The Mayhem finally scored the first goal of a period in the game, when John Siemer scored to put the Mayhem up 3-2. Robillard and Johnson both picked up their second points of the night with assists on the goal. The Havoc answered very late in the game, as Rob Simpson scored at the 17:10 mark of the third. Sy Nutkevitch and Christian Powers picked up the assists on the goal.

The game went into a shootout after no goals in overtime. For a second straight night, Jordan Ruby saved all four shots in the shootout, while Matt Summers and Jake Trask scored for the Mayhem to give them the 4-3 win.
