Muskegon, MI (August 11, 2004) — The Michigan Mayhem, the new CBA Expansion Team along the Lake Michigan Lakeshore, announced today that Reggie Fox will be their Head Coach to lead the Franchise into their inaugural season this coming November, pending league approval. Fox, a native of Baldwin, Michigan, has an extensive global basketball resume that includes 15 years of direction under his mentor Earvin “Magic” Johnson.

“I am very excited about the challenge ahead” stated an excited Reggie Fox. “I feel that this is a good situation for success with a strong organizational foundation and a community who is hungry for a professional organization to support. I learned from the best disciplinarian, Magic Johnson, that strong work ethics and being a perfectionist ultimately will lead to successful results.”

Fox, a two-time All-Stater from Baldwin High, began his collegiate career at Muskegon Community College. During his Freshman Season, he averaged 19 points and 6 rebounds per game while being voted MVP of the Jayhawks and a MCCAA All-Star. Reggie took his perimeter sharpshooting skills to the University of Wyoming for his final three years and currently remains the Cowboys #2 Career Leader of 3-Point Field Goals with 165. In 1989, Reggie was drafted by the Grand Rapids Hoops and played six seasons with four different teams in the CBA, the Grand Rapids Hoops, Quad City Thunder, Hartford Hellcats and the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Fox captained the 1996 Sioux Falls Skyforce team to a CBA Championship.

In 1997, Fox signed with Pamesa Valencia in the Spanish Professional League and played for four years. Reggie has played for the Magic Johnson All-Stars for 11 years and worked Magic Johnson Camps for 15 years.

“This stays right in line with our Mission Statement” said General Manager Peter Jackson. “We are so excited to have a young energetic and enthusiastic person as our first head coach who will lead our team and excite our crowds at the L.C. Walker Arena. In the CBA, we have an opportunity to see the players and coaches today, who will be the stars of the NBA tomorrow.”
