Mayhem stay steady despite ever-changing roster

As players come and go for the Mayhem, they are still able to pull out some wins. Michigan was 2-2 for last week, despite all the roster changes. Recent roster changes for the Mayhem include: Harvis Cofield- waived, Stais Boseman- waived, Roy Tarpley- injured reserved, Alpha Bangura- injured reserved, Dubrey Black-signed, Jason Boucher-signed, and Duke Cleveland-signed.

Cofield played five games with the Mayhem before being waived 12-21-05. The 6'1" 190 lbs. guard, averaged 6.4 points, and 2.4 rebounds for Michigan.

In place of Cofield, Michigan signed Dubrey Black 12-21-05. Black previously played for the Toledo Ice of the American Basketball Association (ABA). For the Toledo Ice, Black, 6'3", 205 pounds, wsa third in scoring averaging 18.4 ppg, and 3.2 assists. So far, Black has played 3 games for the Mayhem averaging 6 ppg with a field goal percentage of 62.

Perhaps the Mayhem's greatest lost so far this season is guard Alpha Bangura, who was placed on injured reserve on 12-21-05. Before his injury, Bangura lead the CBA in scoring averaging 29.2 points per game. He also averaged 6.8 rebounds and registered 24 steals in just 13 games.

Signed in place of Bangura, the Mayhem welcomes back Jason Boucher (12-21-05). Boucher played with the Mayhem earlier in the season, and was waived 12-10-05. For the Mayhem Boucher averaged 4.4 points in 7 games and recorded 13 steals.

After being placed on injured reserve 12-7-05, Stais Boseman is waived. Boseman sustained an injury to his pinky finger, which required surgery. Boseman was the second leading scored for the Mayhem, averaging 18.1 points per game (7 games).

Roy Tarpley has also sustained an injury which required surgery. Tarpley broke his hand 12-22-04 against the Rockford Lightning. Tarpley, who previously played in the NBA (Dallas Mavericks), was the only center position for the Mayhem. Tarpley played in 10 games for Michigan where he averaged 8.9 points, and 5.6 rebounds.

In place of the 7'0", 275 pound center, Michigan signed Duke Cleveland. This is Cleveland's second time back with the Mayhem this season. He was released on 12-01-05, and then brought back 12-23-05. Cleveland has played in 7 games for the Mayhem and has averaged 2.4 points per game and .9 rebounds.
