
Mayberry and Sobol Re-sign with Extreme

BLOOMINGTON (Ill.) - The Bloomington Extreme Indoor Football Team is pleased to announce the signings of Defensive Back, Terrill Mayberry and Defensive Lineman, Jeff Sobol to the 2011 roster.
Jeff Sobol, 6'3" 275 lbs. - Defensive Lineman from Eastern Illinois University, will return to the Extreme in 2011 for his second season with the team. During the 2010 season, Sobol played in 11 games, recording 21 tackles (10 tackles for loss) and 6 ½ sacks. He also scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery. In addition to playing on the defensive line, Sobol is the long snapper on field goal and extra point attempts. Sobol transferred to Eastern Illinois University from the University of Illinois following the 2005 season after playing two games for the Illini at Tight End and Defensive End as a Redshirt Freshman. At Eastern Illinois, Sobol earned All-Ohio Valley Conference Team honors in each of his three seasons, while compiling 26.5 tackles for loss over that time.
Terrill Mayberry, 5'11" 180 lbs., Defensive Back from Bowling Green University will re-join the Extreme for his fifth season with the Extreme. Mayberry has played in 46 games with the Extreme and is the franchise leader in career tackles with 221. In 2010, Mayberry played 11 games, making 52 tackles and scoring 2 defensive touchdowns (1 fumble return and 1 interception return). For his career with the Extreme, Mayberry has 5 interceptions, 27 passes broken up, 6 forced fumbles and a blocked kick. The Farmington Hills, MI native was an All Mid-American Conference selection and a two-time All-MAC Academic selection while starting 28 games at Cornerback and Safety at Bowling Green University. Mayberry is a Bloomington, IL resident and is employed by State Farm Insurance.
"Terrill and Jeff were both solid performers for the Extreme defense in 2010. Terrill has been the most consistent defensive back the team has had over the past 5 seasons and Jeff came on strong during his rookie season," states Head Coach Mike Murray. "We look for both of these quality individuals to continue playing well in 2011. They are great team players and both are outstanding members of our community."
With these two signings, the Extreme roster now stands at 30 players announced as part of the 2011 training camp roster. IFL training camp rosters consist of 45 players.
The Bloomington Extreme will open training camp Sunday, February 13, 2011 and kick off the season two weeks later, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum against the Richmond Revolution with a 3:05 pm start time.
