Match Story:

HFX Wanderers FC is going head to head with Forge FC starting on 23 Oct 2021 at 18:00 UTC. The match is a part of the Canadian Premier League. HFX Wanderers FC played against Forge FC in 5 matches this season. Currently, HFX Wanderers FC rank 4th, while Forge FC hold 3rd position.

If Forge FC win this match they clinch a playoff spot. With the Wanderers only 1 point ahead of York United in the table, the Wanderers are also in need of 3 points to secure their fourth place position until the next match.

Injuries:

João Morelli, Cory Bent, Jake Ruby and Mateo Restrepo remain out with lingering injuries. Omar Kreim returned to light training this week and Marcello Polisi returns to the roster.

Christian Oxner will remain out of selection today following a head injury incurred prior to the Wanderers last match. As Oxner follows ongoing concussion protocol, local goalkeeper Ryan Davis will join the Wanderers bench as a substitute to Kieran Baskett.

All other players are available for selection by Wanderers Head Coach Stephen Hart.

Andre Rampersad retains the captain's armband for the 2021 campaign.

Coaches:

This is Stephen Hart's third season in charge of the Wanderers and this year he signed an extension for three more years with the club. He is once again joined by assistant coach Mesut Mert and Goalkeeper Coach Jan-Michael Williams, who were both added to the coaching roster in 2020.

The Wanderers have 14 returning players from the 2020 campaign. Last year's leading scorer, Akeem Garcia, is once again joined in attack by João Morelli and supported by a solid core including the likes of Andre Rampersad, Peter Schaale and Christian Oxner.

The returning core welcomes the experience of Morey Doner, Jeremy Gagnon-Laparé and Eriks Santos to the team this season as well as the fresh faces of U SPORTS draftees Kareem Sow and Stefan Karajovanovic.
