
Match Preview: Sacramento Republic FC V Charlotte Eagles

Sacramento Republic FC (9-6-2) travel to North Carolina to take on the Charlotte Eagles (5-9-3) on Monday, July 14. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. PST at Queens University Sports Complex.
The matchup will be the first and only match between Republic FC and the Eagles this season. The match will also be Republic FC's second match in three days and the second in a string of five matches in ten days.
Republic FC enters the match after falling to the Richmond Kickers 2-1 on Saturday, July 12. Republic FC scored first on an Adam Jahn header, but were unable to hold onto the lead as Kickers substitute forward Matthew Delicâte scored two goals in the final thirty minutes.
Midfielder Rodrigo Lopez recorded his sixth assist of the season on Jahn's header in the 64th minute. Lopez's six assists is second in the USL PRO this season. Lopez will be sitting out this match serving a one-match suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card Monday, July 7 against Orange County Blues FC.
Jahn's goal against Richmond was his third of the season for Republic FC and first since May 3. Jahn is now third on Republic FC for goals this season, tied with fellow forward Justin Braun.
Charlotte comes into the match fighting for the eighth and last playoff spot. The Eagles are one point behind the eighth place Harrisburg City Islanders and just two points behind Wilmington Hammerheads FC and Oklahoma City Energy FC for the sixth and seventh spots.
The Eagles are led by midfielders Jorge Herrera and Drew Yates. Herrera leads Charlotte with five goals and has added three assists on the season while Yates leads Charlotte with five assists and has scored three goals on the season.
