Oakland Roots head to Las Vegas for the first time this season as the team looks to pick up three points on the road. Having come away with five points in their last three matches, Roots are finally finding their chemistry and getting some much needed momentum heading into the second half of the season. Captain Wal Fall scored his second goal of the season off of a beautifully taken free kick, while forward Johnny Rodriguez made his USL Championship debut for Oakland after spending the first half of the season sidelined due to injury.
This is the second time this season that Roots are facing off against Las Vegas. The Lights came away victorious in the first contest, but Roots aim to get the upper hand on Saturday. Recent signing Quincy Amarikwa will look for his first Roots goal as he faces off against his former club for the first time.
