Toros Heads to El Paso to Face the Locomotive

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (8-6-5; 29 pts.) will face El Paso Locomotive FC (11-1-5; 38 pts.) on Saturday, August 21 for a road match. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. CST.

Last time both teams met was at H-E-B Park on June 30 where the Toros defeated El Paso 3-2, handing the only loss thus far for the Locomotive. Earlier this season, RGV FC fell 1-0 to El Paso on the road. Overall, the Toros have not been able to earn a win on the road against the Locomotive, having a 0-2-1 record.

RGV FC: The Toros were able to draw at Austin Bold FC 1-1 and limited the opportunities for the Bold. Elvis Amoh scored his fifth goal of the season, being second in the club. Juan Carlos Azocar leads RGV with six goals scored. Rodrigo Lopez continues to improve throughout the season and has dished out five assists, creating 36 chances (6th in the USL) on the pitch. In addition, he leads with 1,024 total passes (4th in the USL), earning an 82.2% passing accuracy. As a team, RGV FC has scored 28 goals (6th in the USL) while conceding 25 and has kept five clean sheets (7th in the USL).

ELP: El Paso leads the Mountain Division and the Western Conference, having only one loss at H-E-B Park. Collectively, the squad has scored 27 goals, 24 from inside the box, and have conceded 11 goals while having kept eight clean sheets (the most in the USL). The Locomotive leads the USL with 85% passing accuracy. Luis Solignac leads El Paso with six goals with Diego Luna right behind at five. Solignac, Luna and Dylan Mares have all collected three assists each while Luna has been able to create 20 chances on the pitch. Logan Ketterer has totaled 29 saves in 13 appearances, has kept four clean sheets and conceded all 11 goals.
