The Fort Lauderdale Strikers made club history with a penalty shootout victory over Major League Soccer (MLS) side D.C. United in the last round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. As one of just two NASL sides left in the tournament, the club is now setting their sights on a quarterfinal appearance, and will be hoping another upset is on the cards, this time over Orlando City SC.
