San Antonio Scorpions News Release

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Tuesday, September 8, 2015) - This midweek matchup is the second of three home games in eight days for San Antonio. The Scorpions are 8-0-5 all-time against the Carolina RailHawks, with the eight victories being the most for San Antonio against any NASL opponent. Three points are vital for both sides in this game as each tries to make a late-season push to get back into the race for the playoffs.

The Scorpions are coming off of a 0-1 loss at home to the Fall Season-leading Ottawa Fury while the RailHawks got a 2-0 win over the Atlanta Silverbacks last time out in a rare Friday matchup. The win was Carolina's first since their July 18 win over the Scorpions in North Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night and the game can be seen on One World Sports.

By the Numbers:

The home team has dominated this matchup as the visiting team has won only three of the 13 matches contested

The Scorpions have only lost once ever at home to the RailHawks (Sept. 16, 2012)

The largest margin of victory in Scorpions franchise (and modern-NASL) history came against Carolina in an 8-0 win on July 28, 2012, at Heroes Stadium.

The Scorpions have scored 27 goals all-time against Carolina and a combined 43 goals have been scored by both teams in the series

Six players have scored a brace in the series, including Carolina's Nacho Novo in the most recent meeting. Former Scorpion Pablo Campos has the most goals scored in the series with five, including a four goal performance in the Scorpions' 8-0 win
