CPL Atletico Ottawa

Match Notes: Atlético Ottawa v Halifax Wanderers August 29

August 29, 2021 - Canadian Premier League (CPL)
Atletico Ottawa News Release

This is the third and last meeting between the two sides this season, the most recent one coming on August 14th in Atlético Ottawa's homecoming match at TD Place, which resulted in an emphatic 2-1 win by the Atléti.

Malcolm Shaw and Brian Wright were Ottawa's two goalscorers on the afternoon. The club will need their firepower once more to get the result.

With a win, Ottawa would tie the all-time record against Halifax to two wins a side. Across two seasons, Halifax has scored 5 goals against Atlético Ottawa, while Ottawa has scored 3.

A win could see Ottawa leapfrog into sixth place in the CanPL standings, depending on results and the FC Edmonton match later that night, as the Atléti search for a halfway point turnaround win.

OUT: Brandon John (injury, season); Vashon Neufville (injury); Tevin Shaw (suspension; yellow accumulation).
