Mastroeni Not Concerned with Pk's, Turf Or Travel ... Just Improving

Benjamin Franklin once said: "He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else." Which is why you'll not hear Pablo Mastroeni voicing concerns over playing on turf in Vancouver this weekend, or that it is the first of back-to-back road trips to Canada, or the fact that his side is without players through injury and suspension.
The Colorado Rapids head coach has been around MLS long enough to know that traveling great distances, playing on different surfaces and needing to cope with the rigors of pro soccer are not to be used as excuses for under-performing.
"Everyone has travel problems, everyone plays on turf, everyone has injuries, everyone has all issues," Mastroeni said. "What I want these players to focus on is ourselves and how are we going to get better."
Vancouver Whitecaps versus the Colorado Rapids is live on Altitude TV this Saturday. Coverage starts at 4 p.m MT, with kick-off set for 4.30 p.m.
