(St. Louis, Feb. 23, 2004) -- About 50 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) All-Stars and league representatives will visit five area hospitals and schools, Friday, Feb. 27 as part of the MasterCard All-Star Community Day. The 2004 MISL All-Star Weekend is being held in the St. Louis region from Feb. 27-29, and Community Day is one of the highlights of the weekend's festivities.
"The MISL truly looks forward to this day," said MISL Commissioner Steve Ryan. "Our All-Stars are world-class players, but just as importantly, they are dedicated, compassionate, positive role models and we are thrilled that they can bring some cheer into the lives of children in the community. We view Community Day as a vital component of All-Star Weekend, and we are grateful for MasterCard's assistance in making it possible."
Two buses of MISL All-Stars â including St. Louis Steamers All-Stars Daryl Doran and Steve Butcher -- will visit five institutions: three in St. Louis City and two in St. Charles County.

Community Day sponsor MasterCard will help support the All-Star Weekend and the St. Louis community in another important way. "MasterCard is pleased to help sponsor this event for the St. Louis region," said Linda Locke, MasterCard's vice president of communications. "Not only are the MISL and the Steamers attracting soccer families here for their showcase event of the year, but Community Day demonstrates their dedication to making a difference in the region.
