Janesville Jets News Release
JANESVILLE, WI - Janesville Jets Vice President Mason Lyttle is stepping down after eight years of service, Jets President Bill McCoshen confirmed Thursday.
Since joining the Jets in 2014, Mason helped transform the club's business operations, setting new heights in business development, growing the business staff along the way. The team saw record levels of support from corporate sponsors, community partners, and season ticket members throughout Mason's tenure as the Jets' top in-market, front-facing spokesperson.
McCoshen also confirmed that Calvin Bush, the Jets' Director of Media & Communications, will return for his third season with the club.
Mason began with the Jets as a ticketing and communications intern, straight out of college in August of 2014, when his initial plans were to climb the ladder of development in the world of hockey communications. Then, presented with an opportunity to grow alongside the franchise, Mason capitalized and widened his scope to overall business development and front office leadership. Serving Jets' public relations duties also helped him find opportunities to further engrain himself in the Janesville community, joining the Board of Directors for the Janesville Area Convention & Visitors' Bureau in 2018, and the Friends of the Indoor Sports Complex group in 2019.
"I moved to Janesville from North Carolina because a junior hockey team took a chance on me as an intern," said Mason. "Bill and the ownership group saw my potential, and helped me grow so that we could achieve a lot together in the first chapter of my career. I am grateful for their trust and support over the years. I am also immensely thankful to have had excellent teammates around me in the front office, in hockey operations, and on the game night crew. The Jets are a great team that I'm proud to have serviced and represented. It's now time for me to move on to a new challenge, but I will always be a Jet."
"Mason Lyttle knows the Jets' story like few others, and always represented the franchise with great professionalism," said McCoshen. "As the longest-serving member of our business team, Mason helped make our franchise sustainable in Janesville. Mason is ready for a new challenge and the Jets expect to name a successor shortly. I am grateful for the contribution Mason made to the Jets and fully expect him to be successful in his next career.
The Jets began their 14th season of play on Wednesday with a 3-2 victory over the Maryland Black Bears at the annual NAHL Showcase Tournament in Blaine, Minnesota. The team returns home next week and will open their home schedule on Thursday, September 22 versus the Kenai River Brown Bears.
