MASL RNC Finals Schedule Set; Limited Amount of Fans Allowed

April 6, 2021 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
San Diego Sockers News Release

The Major Arena Soccer League today announced that in order to have a limited number of fans able to attend the Ron Newman Cup Finals, they have moved the dates of the Finals matches by one week. Game One will kick off at 7:05pm PDT on Friday, April 16, with a 3:05pm PDT start time for Game Two on Sunday, April 18. Should the series be tied after two games, the teams will play a 15-minute mini-game for Game Three, approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game Two.

The Finals will take place at Toyota Arena in Ontario, the host venue of the Ontario Fury, where the Sockers and Fury will meet for the first time in a championship series. Restrictions in the county of San Diego and a lack of arena availability at Pechanga Arena SD prevent the Sockers from being able to host a Finals match.

With safety measures and recent easing of restrictions in California, there will be limited, socially-distanced fan attendance permitted. Safety measures will adhere to the standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State of California, the City of Ontario, and Toyota Arena guidelines. The MASL is continuing to work with the State of California on the final attendance number.

The Sockers have been released for sale a cohort of 500 tickets for each game of the Ron Newman Cup Finals. Tickets can only be reserved via the club's website, at www.sdsockers.com/finals. Fans are asked to fill out the form on the web page to reserve seats. Season ticket members will be given priority over the general public. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, and will be picked up at a Sockers Will Call table outside Toyota Arena on the day of game. There will be no sales day-of-game at Toyota Arena.

Fans unable to attend in person will be able to watch live with broadcast details expected to be released in the coming days.
