Marshals Still Working on Playoff Scenario
July 11, 2006 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
The Marshals News Release
It was a hectic week for the owners of the Cincinnati Marshals as plans for the 2006 National Indoor Football League Atlantic Conference playoffs began.
The Marshals entered the postseason as the fifth seed, meaning they would have to travel to Osceola for their first round game. Osceola earned the fourth seed on a tiebreaker with the Marshals due to their win head to head at U.S. Bank Arena.
Osceola, however, did not have a facility available to them on Saturday or Sunday last week and the league looked towards the Marshals to host the game. However, a scheduling conflict at U.S. Bank Arena due to the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill concert, and other issues, did not allow the Marshals to host the game.
Late in the day on Friday, the NIFL advised the Marshals they would be playing at Osceola on Monday night, however the Marshals were unable to secure transportation to Florida on such short notice.
Currently, the NIFL is working with the Marshals and Osceola to try and finalize a plan which will allow the game to take place.
