RiverCity Rage News Release
St. Louis - July 11, 2006-The RiverCity Rage this morning during a press conference announced the following news concerning the playoff game this Saturday July 15, at Savvis Center.
Etu Molden Wide Receiver and Linebacker for the 2006 AFL Arena Bowl XX Champion Chicago Rush will be in attendance for the game. Molden will serve as the Rage Honorary Captain. Prior to the game, Molden will do the coin flip at mid- field.
During the game, the Rage will bring a select number of fans onto the field who will then compete in a Touchdown Celebration Contest, which Molden will judge.
Molden made his AFL debut on February 8, 2004, against the Grand Rapids Rampage. He finished the 2004 season 8th in the AFL in scoring, receptions, receiving yards, and yards from scrimmage.
The 2005 AFL season brought a time of success as well as hardship, as Molden suffered multiple injuries. He did however pick up several awards in 2005. On May 29, he was named the U.S. Army Ironman of the Game after catching 8 passes for 82 yards and getting 3.5 tackles in the playoffs against the Los Angeles Avengers. March 6 against the Nashville Kats, he recorded 6 catches for 60 yards, 4 tackles, and one interception, making him the Offensive Player of the Game and U.S. Army Ironman of the Game. His biggest awards however came at the end of the 2005 season when he was named the to the AFL's all-Ironman team along with being named the Rush MVP and Rush Ironman of the Year.
"We have had a great relationship with the members of the Chicago Rush and are excited to have such an upstanding member of their franchise and the AFL coming to our game," said Rage Head Coach Mike Wyatt.
The game is slated to get underway at 7:00 P.M. CST and will result in the winner moving onto the Atlantic Conference Final.
Tickets for the playoffs are on sale at any Ticket Master Outlet or at Ticket Master Online.
