The Marshals News Release

Cincinnati, OH - The Cincinnati Marshals of the National Indoor Football League will celebrate U.S. Bank Fan Appreciation night this Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 7:30pm at U.S. Bank Arena. The Marshals will host the Tri-Cities Fever in their final home game of the regular season. The first 2000 fans in attendance will receive a Cincinnati Marshals water bottle complements of U.S. Bank and the Marshals.

The Marshals (6-6) are looking to move up in the playoff seedings with a win over the Fever (9-4). They are currently in sixth place in the Atlantic East Division and are hoping to clinch a playoff spot.

The Marshals are coming off of a week of rest and a forfeit victory after New Jersey was suspended for the remainder of the season. The Fever come to Cincinnati riding on a seven game win streak after defeating the Lincoln Capitals (0-11) 100-17 at home last weekend.

Marshals running back Rayshawn Askew will continue his drive towards several NIFL records this weekend. He is three touchdowns short of tying the single season touchdown record of 46, 12 points shy of tying the record for single season scoring at 276 points, and is currently above the record of 169.9 all-purpose yards per game with an average of 173.8.

"I'm feeling good about this weekend," said Askew. "I want to break these records at home in front of my friends, family and fans. My teammates have put me in a great position and now I just have to bring these records home."

Wide receiver Tobias Deans is currently leading the league in most receiving yards per game with 79.3. He is chasing the single season record for most receiving yards per game at 101.1. Breaking these records will be an outstanding accomplishment for both players considering they will have only played in 13 games this season due to the New Jersey forfeit while all other players will have played 14 games.

To thank the fans for their outstanding support throughout the Marshals' inaugural season, adult tickets are just $10.00 and kids 2-12 get in for only $7.00 (discount not valid on $25.00 VIP seats). Tickets are available at the U.S. Bank Arena Box Office, at all Ticketmaster locations including select Kroger stores, charge by phone at 513-562-4949 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
