Halifax, NS. - The Halifax Hurricanes are pleased to welcome another Halifax native to their roster. The Hurricanes have signed Marquis Clayton for the 2019-20 NBL Canada season.

Clayton, who stands 5'9", played high school basketball with the Citadel Phoenix before entering his AUS career with the Saint Mary's University Huskies. While playing for the Huskies he was named AUS 1st Team All-Star before signing his first professional contract with the Moncton Magic in 2017.

"We are pleased to announce the signing of Marquis. I've had the opportunity to watch him develop through his university career at Saint Mary's and then tried to sign him two years ago when he was beginning his pro career," recalls Coach Mike Leslie. "He is a talented player who we think will bring scoring and perimeter shooting to the Hurricanes while running the point guard position."

The Halifax Hurricanes will be entering their fifth season as a member of the NBL Canada. Season Memberships for the upcoming 2019-20 regular season will go on sale Tuesday, September 24 at 9:00 am.
