Mark Stoute Returns to Face Former Team Friday Night

GRAND ISLAND - A familiar face will be back in Grand Island Friday as former Danger head coach Mark Stoute makes his return as head coach of the Cedar Rapids River Kings.
It's not Stoute's first stop at Cedar Rapids. He coached the then-Cedar Rapids Titans from 2012-2016, with an overall record of 40-17. He was named the 2013 IFL Coach of the Year and helped Cedar Rapids earn the 2014 IFL Franchise of the Year honor.
2019 hasn't been as much of a joyride for Stoute, however. Cedar Rapids is tied for last in the IFL with a 1-7 record, with the River Kings most recently losing to the previously winless Bismarck Bucks 40-25.
The Danger enter this Friday's contest on a much different note. Nebraska is winners of three of its past four games, most recently knocking off a Green Bay team that has been a thorn in its side 47-40.
Tommy Armstrong, Jr. has continued in immaculate play, tallying another six touchdowns in the win over Green Bay. Greg Dent, Jr. is also proving to be one of his favorite targets, as he hauled in three more TD's in the win.
The Danger also feature the league's top two rushers with Armstrong leading the way with 16 TD's this year. Running back Davonte Sapp-Lynch is right behind him with 13 TD's.
The Danger will now look to run over Cedar Rapids this weekend.
Kickoff between the Nebraska Danger and the Cedar Rapids River Kings on First Responders Night and Mascot Night is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Heartland Events Center.
