Marek Schwarz named ADT Canadian Hockey League Goalie of the Week

Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Marek Schwarz of the Vancouver Giants is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 2-0-1 record, along with a 1.33 goals against average and .942 save percentage three starts last week.

Schwarz turned aside 20 shots for his first shutout, backing the Giants to a 3-0 win over the Calgary Hitmen on November 30. He made 19 saves in a 3-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers on November 30 and turned aside 30 shots in a 2-2 tie with the Kelowna Rockets on December 4. The 18-year-old rookie from Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic improved his season record to 15-12-1 with a 2.88 goals against average and .889 save percentage.

Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2004-05 season.
