Spokane Chiefs News Release

For the fifth consecutive year Chiefs fans are encouraged to bring a new (or gently used) teddy bear to the game on Saturday, December 11th and toss it out onto the ice for the Spokane Chiefs Teddy Bear Toss.

When the Chiefs score their first goal of the game versus the Everett Silvertips, fans will be invited to toss their teddy bears onto the ice in celebration. All of the teddy bears that end up on the ice will be donated to area children in need during the holiday season. Chiefs players will take a number of the teddy bears to local hospitals the following week in the Gus Johnson Ford Christmas Caravan. The stops will include Shriner's Hospital, Deaconess, Sacred Heart and Ogden Hall. Teddy Bears will also be donated to Toys for Tots.

Last season over 2,500 teddy bears were collected and distributed throughout the community.

The Chiefs will be hosting Everett for the second time this year and for the first time since a 3-0 win on November 17th in the Spokane Arena. Jim Watt stopped 25 shots for the shutout. Gary Gladue, J.P. Szaszkiewicz and Steven Gillen all scored goals in the win.

Tickets for all home Chiefs games are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
